The Michael Owen Maxim88 connection is one season: Michael Owen was announced as Maxim88 brand ambassador for 2022/23. The role belonged to that season. We write about it in the past tense, and we do not publish a quote from him, an endorsement of any product, or any suggestion that he plays or recommends betting.
What follows is the factual picture: what an ambassador season involves, the football career behind the name, and where football betting sits in our lobby today.
Maxim88 ambassador for 2022/23
A brand ambassador season is a commercial agreement, not a product feature. In general, a football name attached to a betting brand for a season appears in campaign artwork, promotional imagery and brand communications for the period agreed. It does not change odds, bonus terms, turnover multiples or withdrawal limits, and it was never meant to.
The Maxim88 Sponsorship section still sits in our menu alongside Promos and VIP, and that is where brand and sponsorship material lives in the lobby. Anything beyond the season itself, such as appearance dates or campaign content, is not published here, so we leave it alone.

Michael Owen’s football career
Owen came through the Liverpool academy and broke into the first team as a teenage striker. He went on to win the Ballon d’Or, the individual award given to the standout player in European football.
After Liverpool he joined Real Madrid, then returned to England with Newcastle United, later played for Manchester United, and finished his club career at Stoke City.
For England, his best known moment came at the World Cup, when he ran through the Argentina defence to score one of the tournament’s defining goals. We keep to those public career facts and publish no statistics beyond them.
The Maxim88 Michael Owen link and football betting
For a football fan, the practical side of the name is the sportsbook, not the campaign. Football betting in our lobby runs on three platforms: BTI, IBC (Saba) and CMD368. Each carries its own odds and its own market depth, so the same fixture can be priced differently depending on which one you open.
Every settled soccer bet also earns Instant Cash Rebate, which has no turnover attached and no maximum. Soccer, basketball and badminton pay 0.5% at Normal and rise through the tiers to 1.0% at Crockford, with a minimum payout of SGD 1. Records sync every hour and you claim whenever you like.
Two limits apply before you plan around a bonus. Bonus money cannot be used on outright bets, and void, tie, cancelled or opposite-side bets do not count as valid turnover. Our football markets and rebate rates set out how each platform and each promotion treats a settled slip.
Ambassadors and responsible play
A famous name on a campaign does not change the mathematics of a bet. The house edge, the odds on a handicap line and the rebate percentage are the same whoever appears in the artwork, and an ambassador season tells you nothing about whether a bet will win.
Rebates and cash back are also worth seeing for what they are. They return a small share of what you staked or lost, so they soften a losing week rather than make it good, and the way to earn more of them is to bet more first. That is not a safety net.
Our pages are for readers aged 21 and over. If betting has stopped being entertainment for you or for someone close to you, the National Council on Problem Gambling helpline in Singapore is 1800-6-668-668. Set a deposit figure you are comfortable losing, take breaks, and never chase a loss with a bigger stake.
Football markets run on BTI, IBC (Saba) and CMD368, with soccer rebate from 0.5% to 1.0% by tier and no turnover attached.
